| Type | Total Inventory | New Listings | Pendings | New Listings/Sales Ratio | % of Inventory Sold |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single Family Homes | 4229 | 581 | 169 | 3.4 to 1 | 4% |
| Condos | 1782 | 184 | 79 | 2.3 to 1 | 4% |
| Multi-Family | 226 | 20 | 9 | 2.2 to 1 | 4% |
The number of sales for single family homes and condos decreased in excess of 20% from May 2007.
Multi-Family Sales (total of nine)
Palm Springs: 3 sales, 2 that had been on the market over 400 days.
Desert Hot Springs: 6 sales, 3 that were sold at auction by Pacific Auction Company. The auction process seems to be gathering buyers as well as attention in San Diego and the Palm Springs area.
Some Good News
Inventory decreased in all categories at around 10% from May 2007. A decrease in available inventory will help the market stabilize and hopefully preclude falling prices. I didn’t count them, but would assume the decrease in inventory has come from expiring listings that were not renewed.
